Hornets Tied for First-Place After One Round of LC Golf Invitational

FOREST, VA – The Lynchburg College golf team is tied for first place Sunday after the first day of play at the two-day LC Invitational, hosted at London Downs Golf Club.

Colby Francis led the Hornets with an 80 on the par-72, 6,938 yard course, tying for fourth place overall and trailing by only three shots of the lead. Matthew Lipscomb fired an 82, which included a hole-in-one on the par-3 third hole of 194 yards. Chad Wisecarver carded an 85, Santiago Anguera had an 86 and Andy Craig finished with a 96.

LC's team total of 333 tied the Apprentice School (Newport News) for first place in the team standings. Liberty's B.J. Kuhn paced all golfers Sunday with a 77.

Monday's action is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m., weather permitting.
