The Hornet golfers met Bobby Mitchell, who turned pro at age 15 after being a caddy at the Danville Golf Club. Mitchell beat Jack Nichlaus at the 1972 Tournament of Champions and was runner-up to Nichlaus at The Masters that same year.)
