Lynchburg Golf Wins Team Title at Hornet Invitational
FOREST, VA – The Lynchburg College golf team captured the 2011 Hornet Invitational team title, finishing a full 10 strokes ahead of nearest competitor hosted on London Downs Golf Course. The Apprentice School's Ben Hunter won the individual title, overcoming Lynchburg's Dusty Scott (Ivor, VA/Tidewater Academy) in the second playoff hole. Each player fired 158 for the two-day tournament, with Stevenson University's Kyle Cerard one stroke behind.
Conrad Anguera (Lynchburg, VA/Carlucci Amer. Int.) scored a 160, good for fourth place overall, while Daniel Haugh (Earlysville, VA/Albemarle) took fifth (162). Santi Anguera (Lynchburg, VA/Carlucci Amer. Int.) came in with a 168 and Chad Wisecarver (Rustburg, VA/Rustburg) carded a 169.
The Hornets will next compete April 4-5 at the Apprentice School Invitational at Fords Colony.
