Ryan Killilea returns to the sidelines as an assitant coach for the second year after graduating with a degree in sports management from Lynchburg College in May of 2011. While at Lynchburg, he was a student assistant for three years after playing on the team his freshman year. Ryan will be assisting in everyday activities of the program, ranging from film exchange and breakdown, scouting reports, travel, practice planning, and more.
Killilea has done extensive coaching outside of his duties with the Hornets. He has spent six years working with the Rising Star Basketball School, helping in all capacities such as a coach, commissioner, and assistant director. In addition to Rising Star, Killilea has coached at the Jim Calhoun Basketball Camp (UConn), Coach Herenda's Hoop School (UMass-Lowell), and the Boston College Boys Basketball Camp. Killilea also coached the Newton South High School boys basketball team summer league team for two years while he was an undergraduate.
Killilea works as an assistant sports information director and an assistant director for events crew at Lynchburg. He is pursuing his masters' degree in educational leadershp at LC.
