The Lynchburg College athletic department each week showcases a question and answer feature with our Hornet of the Week. The 16th student-athlete selected this year is men's basketball senior Brandan Connor.
Since the break, Brandon has helped the Hornets to four wins in a row, putting the streak at six games overall. During that span, the wing has averaged eight points and four rebounds a game, including a season-high 14 points against Ferrum College. However, his biggest impact has come at the other end of the floor, as he is one of the best defenders in the ODAC and routinely shuts down the top option for other teams.
Why did you choose Lynchburg College?
The school had an excellent Business program that I was interested in and I wanted to play basketball here. Coach Scott told me that by coming here, I'd be part of something special and I'm now on a team that has its best start in the school history.
What is your favorite moment thus far as a Hornet?
Winning the Manhattanville College Tournament. We fought hard as a team and found a way to win against the host team.
What do you like most about LC men's basketball?
I like how close our team is. We consider ourselves a family that would do anything for each other and that is a mindset we have both on and off the court. I believe that this concept is one of the many reasons for our success so far.
What has been like to help the Hornets to their best start in school history?
It's a great feeling; I feel like I'm a part of history. This start truly shows how hard we all worked in the offseason and how badly we want to make this program successful.
