Melanie Tenney Earns Third-Team NFHCA All-American Honors

CHANDLER, AZ – Lynchburg College senior defender Melanie Tenney earned third-team National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-American honors Monday.

Tenney earned first-team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) and All-South Region honors in November. She was named All-ODAC in each of the last three seasons and earned a spot on the All-ODAC Tournament team the last two years. Tenney is a two-time All-Region and All-State honoree as well.

Tenney led the team with six defensive saves and was fifth in the conference. She helped Lynchburg to a 1.18 goals against average - the best in the league.

Lynchburg finished the season 16-5, captured its eighth-straight ODAC title, and advanced into the NCAA Tournament for the ninth-consecutive season.
