Hornets Bounce Back for 2-0 Victory over Wilkes

SHIPPENSBURG, PA – The Lynchburg College field hockey team ended a two-game losing skid Sunday afternoon with a 2-0 victory over Wilkes University.

The game, played at Shippensburg University, increases the Hornets' 2013 record in neutral site games to 2-1.

Kelli Williams started the scoring for the Hornets with 1:08 remaining in the first half when Megan Tillou found her off a penalty corner.

The game remained 1-0 until late in the second half when LC added an insurance tally. Catherine Rogerson sent the ball over to Taylor Quillen who finished it off for the 2-0 lead.

Jordan Seeley made six saves for LC while Hannah Myers came in for one of her own. Alexis Reed had 12 saves for Wilkes (2-8).

Wilkes held a 16-11 advantage in penalty corners although the Hornets outshot the Lady Colonels 29-18.

Lynchburg (7-4/2-0) hosts Randolph-Macon College (6-5/4-0) Sunday, October 13 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action at 5 p.m.
