Kelsey Link Scores Twice as LC Field Hockey Defeats Rhodes 3-0

FREDERICKSBURG, VA – Junior attack Kelsey Link netted two goals to lead the Lynchburg College field hockey team to a 3-0 victory Sunday afternoon over Rhodes College (TN) in a contest played at the University of Mary Washington.

Katie Kline opened the scoring for LC at 22:44 mark, on a feed from Nicole Marburger. Link found the back of the cage before intermission, assisted by Catherine Rogerson. Link added an insurance goal in the final minutes to provide the three-goal cushion.

Jordan Seeley made six stops to record a shutout between the pipes for LC. Erin Bailey made seven stops for the Lynx (0-4). The Hornets out-shot Rhodes 17-8 and each team was awarded seven penalty corners.

Lynchburg (2-2) travels to Wesley College (DE) for a non-conference game Sunday at noon.
