LC Field Hockey Named to the NFHCA National Academic Team Honorable Mention

CHANDLER, AZ – The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) released the National Academic Awards on Monday, and the Lynchburg College field hockey team received honors once again.

LC was named as a team on the Honorable Mention list, which has programs that had a collective GPA over 3.0.  Lynchburg was one of five programs from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) represented.

Along with the team awards, individuals were recognized as well for their outstanding work in the classroom.  17 Hornets were honored: Johanna Agustin, Meredith Bradsher, Madlene Brannau, Heather Dodge, Eliza Fritz, Courtney Gillette, Katie Kline, Morgan Lammando, Lindsay Leonard, Megan McAnally, Shelly Milks, Hannah Myers, Ashley Nelson, Catherine Rogerson, Jordan Seeley, Melanie Tenney, and Ashley Vogan

Seniors Agustin, Leonard, Milks, and Nelson are all four-year honorees.

The Hornets finished up the 2012 season with a 19-4 record including an appearance in the NCAA regional final.
