LC Field Hockey Ends Regular Season Perfect in ODAC

AMHERST, VA— The #17 ranked Lynchburg College field hockey team won its regular season finale 13-0 against Sweet Briar College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play Thursday afternoon. The win gives the Hornets their fourth-straight undefeated season in conference play.

Senior Lindsay Leonard started the scoring for LC, taking the pass from junior Ashley Vogan along the left end line for the score 2:44 into the match.

Sophomore Kelsey Link took the ball into the circle less than twenty seconds later for the Hornets, scoring past Katie Torretti for the 2-0 lead. LC was just heating up, scoring eight more goals in the first half.

Leonard picked up her second hat trick of the season with three goals in the game. She also added an assist on a goal to Katie Kline. Link added her seventh and eighth goals of the season for the Hornets.

Tess Brzezynski, Ashley Nelson, Danielle Kreider, Taylor Quillen, Morgan Lammando, and Megan McAnally each found the cage for LC. Colleen Dore, Nicole Marburger, Lommando, and Vogan each collected an assist.

Kreider's goal was her first since the game-winner against Randolph-Macon in last year's regular season. It was the first career goal for both McAnally and Quillen.

Torretti made 15 saves for the Vixens.

Lynchburg (15-3/8-0) will play the winner of Shenandoah and Washington & Lee in the ODAC semifinals Tuesday. Time is to be announced.
