Hornets Regain Winning Ways, Take down Wesley 4-0

FREDRICKSBURG, VA – The #20 ranked Lynchburg College field hockey team regained the spark that carried it early in the season, bouncing back from a defeat to Elizabethtown by bringing down Wesley College 4-0 Thursday night at the University of Mary Washington.

Sophomore Katie Kline scored her first two goals of the season to pace the Hornets. She also collected an assist on a third goal by LC. Senior captain Lindsey Leonard added a goal and an assist. The goal was Leonard's fifth on the year in seven games. Sophomore Kelsey Link collected her second goal to round out the scoring. Captain Shelly Milks tallied an assist in a winning effort. Hannah Myers had four saves for LC.

The Hornets outshot the Wolverines 18-8. Wesley had the advantage in corners 7-5.

LC (5-2) returns home for a 1 p.m. start on Saturday, September 22 against Shenandoah University as part of Parents and Family Weekend festivities.
