Lindsay Leonard Scores Two as LC FH Defeats William Paterson 3-0

FREDERICKSBURG, VA – Senior attack Lindsay Leonard scored twice Sunday as the seventh-ranked Lynchburg College field hockey team defeated William Paterson University 3-0 in a contest played at the University of Mary Washington.

It took just under four minutes of play for LC to get on the scoreboard. Leonard scored an unassisted goal, and struck again at the 23:28 mark on a feed from fellow senior Shelly Milks. The Hornets added their third goal mid-way through the second half on an unassisted goal from Milks.

Kellye Statz made 10 saves for William Paterson (1-3). The Hornets had large advantages in total shots (29-4) and penalty corners (12-4).

Lynchburg (3-1) hosts Roanoke College Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference opener for both teams.
