Leonard, Dupuy Repeat as ODAC Players of the Week

FOREST, VA – Lynchburg College women's soccer freshman Dessi Dupuy and field hockey junior Lindsay Leonard repeated as Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) players of the week for their respective sports, which was announced by the conference on Monday. Dupuy earned player of the week honors once already this season, while Leonard has garnered the award twice.

Dupuy had a record-setting week in which she scored 11 goals in three games played. She tallied five goals against Eastern Mennonite University, tying a school record for most goals in a single game. She also added three goals against conference opponent Hollins University and added another hat-trick in the victory over Meredith College. Her 20 total goals are five short of the school record for most goals in a season. The Lynchburg, VA native ranks first in the ODAC in goals (20) and points (45).

Lynchburg went 3-0 last week with wins coming against Eastern Mennonite University, Hollins University and Meredith College to improve its record to 10-2 with a 5-0 mark in the ODAC. LC has outscored its opponents 64-6 this season. The Hornets host Guilford College on Wednesday on Shellenberger Field at 4 p.m.

Junior attack Lindsay Leonard scored five goals last week with four of them coming in one game against ODAC rival Roanoke College. She added another goal against Washington & Lee University to bring her total to five on the week. Leonard ranks first in the ODAC in points (34) and goals (14).

Sixth-ranked Lynchburg field hockey went 2-0 last week to improve its record to 9-1 overall and a 3-0 mark in conference. The Hornets have not relinquished a goal since September 13 when they defeated first-ranked Messiah College.

LC takes on Virginia Wesleyan College on Tuesday at 5 p.m. on Shellenberger Field.
