All-American Shelly Milks Travels Abroad to Costa Rica

LYNCHBURG, VA – Lynchburg College field hockey rising junior Shelly Milks travelled abroad to Costa Rica this summer with other students from LC.
Led by Dr. Georg Schwarzmann, Milks and the other students worked on their Spanish language skills while travelling through the country and learning the culture. They studied at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Costa Rica (UNA) in Heredia while also living with host families. While studying abroad they also took in local areas such as San Jose and national parks.
Milks, a Second-Team All-American in 2010, will look to help Lynchburg win its sixth straight Old Dominion Athletic Conference title this season. LC opens the season on the road at Mary Washington University on September 1.
