Matt Arrigon Steps Down as LC Equestrian Coach

LYNCHBURG, VA – Lynchburg College head equestrian coach Matt Arrigon announced his resignation from the program this week to take over as the head coach for St. Andrews University in Laurinburg, NC.

During the 2012 campaign, Arrigon guided the Hornet program to a first-place finish at the University of Virginia Intercollegiate Horse Show Association and fourth-place finish at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference championship, which the Hornets hosted.

An Oxford, Ohio native, he attended Miami University (OH) where he received his undergraduate degree in operations management with a minor in supply chain management and business statistics in 2007. As a rider on the RedHawk equestrian team, he finished the 2005-06 IHSA show season with a third-place finish at IHSA nationals in intermediate on the flat rider.

"We appreciate the hard work and dedication that Matt has put into the LC riding program the last three years," said LC director of athletics Dr. Jack Toms. "I am very pleased with the positive direction of the program and its improvement in recent seasons and we hope to find a replacement to continue the good work that Matt started."
