LC Riders Place Fifth at Bridgewater Horse Show

BRIDGEWATER, VA – The Lynchburg College equestrian team competed in a horse show at Bridgewater College on Saturday, February 11 and placed fifth overall.

Senior Kelly Gerland competed in the open fences and placed fourth, while senior Alyssa Roehr captured first place in the intermediate fences. Gerland also finished fifth in the open flat. Junior Kelli Greenslade had a fifth place finish in the novice fences and freshman Bryce Extine placed sixth. Greenslade also finished second in the novice flat. Senior Jordan Rooney had a sixth place finish in the open flat.

In the intermediate flat, senior Taylor Fellows came in first place, while junior Rachel Jones placed right behind her in second. Senior Emilee Herbert got a second place finish in the novice flat. In the advanced walk trot canter, sophomore Patrice Gibson finished in third place and sophomore Taylor Dalton placed sixth. In the walk trot, freshman Katie Plazak had a first place finish and freshman Emma Hamilton took third place.

The Hornet riders will be back in action on Saturday, February 18 when they will compete at Hollins at 10 a.m.
