Lynchburg Rides to Second-place Finish at Bridgewater College IHSA
BRIDGEWATER, VA - The Lynchburg College Hornet equestrian team rode to a second place showing on Friday, October 29th at the Bridgewater College IHSA event. As a team, Lynchburg scored 40 points, only one point behind first-place Hollins University.
Individually, Kelly Gerland (Malvern, PA/Great Valley) was the high point rider for the event, as she took first in open fences and intermediate flat. Krissy Guthrie (Glenmore, PA/ Downingtown) tied for first in the intermediate fences and finished second in the novice flat. Haley Bagwell (Shreveport, LA/The Grier School) tied for first the intermediate fences, and Shelby Wambold (Elverson, PA/Twin Valley) came in second in the novice fences. Rachel Jones (Toano,VA/Warhill) finished third in the novice fences and fourth in the novice flat. Jordan Rooney (Wyckoff, NJ/Ramapo) rode to a second-place finish in the open flat.
Taylor Fellows (Charlottesville, VA/Western Albemarle) and Emilee Herbert (Baltimore, MD/Towson High School) finished second place in the intermediate flat and novice flat, respectively. In the walk trot canter, Kelli Greenslade (Bowie, MD/ Bowie) and Drew Nichols (Frederick, MD/ Gov. Thomas Johnson) tied for second, while Patrice Gibson (Richmond, VA/Grove Avenue Christian) finished fourth. Finally, Morgan Kemp finished third in the walk trot.
Lynchburg College will host an In-House Horse Show on Friday, November 19 at 4 p.m.
