Cheerleaders Raise Money for Red Cross
LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College cheerleading team helped raise money for the Red Cross Hurricane Sandy relief fund this past week. The men's basketball team hosted crosstown Virginia University of Lynchburg in a scrimmage last Tuesday and the cheerleading team helped collect donations from the fans attending the game.
During the weekend, the cheerleaders continued to raise money for the cause. Cheerleaders walked around the crowds of Shellenberger Field while the women's soccer NCAA tournament games were taking place.
With the devastation that happened to the Northeast because of Hurricane Sandy, the cheerleading team decided to help out the cause. For the entire week, the team raised over $300 to help out the people in need.
