Brandon Miller Named ODAC Pitcher of the Week

FOREST, VA—Junior Brandon Miller has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Pitcher of the Week for his performances over the last seven days.

Miller surrendered a first inning run against Eastern Mennonite University (15-16/3-11) on March 31 before throwing eight scoreless frames to pitch up his sixth win of the season. He struck out seven and did not walk a Royal in the game.

He then went on to throw another complete game against Randolph-Macon College (15-11/10-5) in which he struck out seven more opposing batters on April 5. He walked just two in the 16-0 Hornet victory which propelled the Hornets on to a game two victory and third place in the ODAC standings.

Miller has now thrown 17-straight scoreless innings while lowering his ERA to 2.58. He now leads the ODAC in wins (7-3) and his 20 career victories are three away from matching the school record.

The #29 Hornets (19-5/8-4) travel to Ferrum College (18-12) Tuesday night for a 6 p.m. non-conference matchup. Lynchburg returns home for an ODAC doubleheader Saturday at noon against first place and 24th-ranked Shenandoah University (22-5/12-2).
