LC Baseball Splits With No.10 Shenandoah           

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College baseball team split with No.10 Shenandoah University on Wednesday afternoon, falling 3-0 in the first game and winning 6-1 in the second in non-conference play.

Nicholas McMahon pitched a gem for Shenandoah in the first game, giving up just one hit to LC. Michael Kenah singled in the first inning, but McMahon stifled the Hornets, relinquishing just one walk and striking out five leading to a 3-0 victory.

Jake Pendergraft led SU with two RBI in the game. Freshman Matt Outman got the start, giving up three hits and striking out two. Fellow freshman Charlie Theiringer picked up three innings in relief while only allowing one hit.

In the second game, LC scored a run in each of the first three innings, leading 3-1 by the end of the third. Junior Michael Del Buono doubled in a run in the first, while sophomore Zach Fitzpatrick hit a sacrifice fly in the second, and junior Ashton Paige singled in a run for Lynchburg in the third frame.

Lynchburg kept the offense going with three runs in the sixth to seal the 6-1 victory. Kenah doubled in freshman Lincoln Evans while junior Dan Savage doubled in two.

Freshman Martin Henderlite earned the starting nod, while freshman Brandon Miller picked up his fifth win on the mound for Lynchburg this season. He gave up three hits and no runs in five innings while striking out five.

Adam Emerson took the loss for Shenandoah (17-6).

Lynchburg (15-6) hosts Southern Virginia University on Friday at 3 p.m. on Fox Field.
