Del Buono and Voumard Named ODAC Players of the Week

FOREST, VA – Two Lynchburg College student-athletes were named Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Athletes of the Week in their respective sports for the week of March 19.

Junior midfielder Max Voumard captured the men's lacrosse accolades. He scored 3:44 into overtime to lead the sixth-ranked Hornet lacrosse team to a 13-12 victory at #13 Roanoke College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play Saturday evening. Voumard finished with three goals and an assist.

Junior second baseman Michael Del Buono earned the baseball player of the week award. In a week in which the Hornets scored 19 runs or more three times in just five games, he stood out. In four LC wins, he hit .478 with a double, two triples and two home runs. Del Buono boasted a slugging percentage of .957 and scored nine runs while driving in 10.

Both the baseball and men's lacrosse teams sit in good positions roughly midway through the regular season. The Hornet baseball squad is 14-5 overall and 4-2 in conference, tied for second place, while the lacrosse team is tied for first in the ODAC (1-0) and 7-1 overall.
