Six Hornets Named to Academic All-State Team
NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Six Lynchburg College student-athletes were recognized Wednesday with the release of the 2011-12 Virginia Sports Information Directors Academic All-State team.
The Hornet six included four seniors:
- Jackie Bader, Women’s Soccer, Biomedical Science major, Fort Washington, MD
- Franc Cook, Men’s Lacrosse, Athletic Training major, Milton, DE
- Daniel Cutright, Cross Country and Track & Field, Exercise Physiology major, Montpelier, VA
- Elena Kritter, Volleyball, Theater major, Culpeper, VA
One junior:
Shelly Milks, Field Hockey, Exercise Physiology major, Gloucester, VA
And one sophomore:
Zach Fitzpatrick, Baseball, Business Administration and Economics major, Baltimore, MD
A total of 156 athletes that represent 26 schools in the state of Virginia had student-athletes recognized. To be recognized on the team, consisting of all colleges in the state of Virginia, a student-athlete had to have a 3.25 cumulative grade point average and at least a sophomore in eligibility. Each school was allowed to nominate six student-athletes.
