All-Sports Hall of Fame Members

The Lynchburg College Sports Hall of Fame was established in 1978 to recognize and honor outstanding athletes and teams for their athletic performance, leadership, and team contributions while students at Lynchburg College. In 1975 (men's athletics) and in 1981 (women's athletics), Lynchburg College began competition in Division III of NCAA.

Annually, the Lynchburg College Alumni Association, through its Board of Directors, appoints a committee to review the nominations for the Sports Hall of Fame. Any alumnus/a, staff member or friend of the college may make nominations for this award. The guidelines and process for submitting nominations, selecting members, and induction ceremonies and awards are outlined at the Sports Hall of Fame Criteria page.

Past inductees include E. Wayne Proffitt '67, '73 M.Ed., Marie Enke Shaner '53, '69 M.Ed., '83 Ed.S., Aubrey R. Moon Jr. '56, Catherine Ennis '75, Norton W. Hurd '38, Betty Jackson Franklin '83, and Karen N. Bonsack '81.

Nominations for individuals/teams to be honored in 2012 (at either Homecoming or Westover Alumni Society Weekend) will be accepted through January 15, 2012.
